We focus on building the skills behind everything so you’re not guessing anymore and can keep making steady progress.

WHAT YOU’LL BE WORKING ON
​

The main focus is on the skills behind everything so you can actually understand your instrument and make steady progress.
That includes:

• picking and fretting technique
• rhythm and timing
• riffs and lead playing
• legato, alternate picking, and palm muting
• speed work
• music theory that actually applies to your playing

The goal is to give you the tools so you’re not stuck guessing what to practice or how to improve.

When it comes to songs, we can absolutely take a look at sections you’re stuck on.
We’ll break things down together so you can actually get through them.

THE LESSON PLAN​

There isn’t a single rigid step-by-step plan, but there is a general path we follow.
We start with the fundamentals:

• basic rhythm and timing
• playing along with a metronome
• simple chord patterns

Once those are solid, we move into 8th notes:

• chord strumming patterns
• single-note picking
• legato (hammer-ons, pull-offs, slides)

Then we move into 16th notes:

• chord patterns
• single-note picking
• legato

After that, we move into triplets:

• chord patterns
• single-note picking
• legato

Along the way, we can also work on:

• palm-muted patterns
• different time signatures
• speed work
• finger tapping
• sweep picking
• other techniques depending on your goals

I’ve never had two students learn the exact same way.

Some things will click right away. Others take more time. That’s normal.

Everything we work on is adjusted based on:

• where you’re currently at
• what you’re trying to improve
• how you respond to the material

If something is easy, we move forward.

If something is difficult, we slow it down and fix it.

​The goal is to keep you improving without feeling stuck or overwhelmed.

METAL GUITAR FOCUSED​

The material we cover is heavily influenced by metal—my favorite genre.

Some of the bands that shaped how I play and write include:
Iron Maiden, Helloween, Slayer, Morbid Angel, Decapitated, In Flames, Opeth, Emperor, and more.

SCHEDULE

Lessons are held once a week.

Your payment reserves a specific day and time each week, which stays consistent.

If you have to miss a lesson, you can send in a video and receive a video lesson in return, along with new material to work on.

RATES​

Lessons are billed monthly and include:

• weekly lessons
• video recaps after each lesson
• email support between lessons

30-minute lessons — $125/month

60-minute lessons — $215/month

Nothing complicated.
I just need to:

• see both of your hands clearly
• hear your guitar and metronome
• hear you when you talk

Lessons are held on Microsoft Teams.

Guitar Pro is highly recommended.
Whenever we cover more detailed material—especially theory—it helps a lot to be able to follow along directly in the software.
I can always provide PDFs, but Guitar Pro will give you the best experience with the material.
